is an enigmatic nexus where music, lyrics and contemplation intertwine
Strange and wondrous things happen where the spark of creation meets the wisdom of old
Songs take form, fly away and eventually scintillate like silver threads among the gold
The road untraveled is long and dark for the broken hearted
But the living flame cannot be put out once its started
In the dark depths of mining
There may still be a silver lining
Through joy and sorrow their eyes remain agleam
The silvery stars are reflected in the miners’ dream
Silvermine consists of the songwriting duo Alkryd/Hammarstedt and in extension, their collaboration with studio engineer Quartieri. When needed, Johansson contributes with rhythm and love.
Silvermine is generally not bound by any specific genre. That being said though, we do thrive in a landscape of acoustic folk songs with a taste of Americana and a slice of Swedicana. We are also passionate about writing epic songs inspired by classical music. And yes, we can play rock and roll too!
